DJ Bush Baby advises fellow creatives to consider taking up insurance plans among other safety measures to limit the effects of studio thefts.
In late 2020, Ykee Benda’s Mpaka Records was wiped clean as some studio equipment including his iMac computer was stolen. It didn’t take long before he apprehended the thieves and replaced his equipment.
On Saturday, renowned producer and songwriter Andy Muzic fell victim to a similar case of studio burglary as thieves broke into his home and made off with items worth millions of shillings.
Andy Muzic claims the thieves made off with equipment worth millions including an Apple iMac computer valued at Ugx6M, a soundcard valued at Ugx2.5M, a piano valued at over Ugx780,000, and other items.
Upon learning of the news, renowned deejay, producer, and media personality DJ Bush Baby expressed what a crazy risk the music business can be and how heartbreaking it can turn when equipment is stolen.
He, however, advised fellow creatives and music business owners to consider investing in insurance and other safety measures to avoid losses that come with stolen studio equipment.
This is very heartbreaking. Business is a crazy risk. I recall Ykee Benda’s situation too. As creatives & owners, it’s time to consider insurance, & other safety/security measures. IMHO!
