Agnes Nabukenya extended the USSSA Kampala region qualifier amazing performance to the 2025 UMEA Solidarity Games that climaxed on Monday at Namagabi SS in Kayunga.
The versatile Kawempe Muslim SS skipper, named the Most Valuable Player after helping her side to defend the girl’s football trophy that they won in 2024 in Masaka.
In the girls’ one sided final, Kawempe Muslim SS beat Nkoma SS 3-0 at Namagabi SS ground with Agnes Nabukenya, Monica Nannono and Kevin Nanyunja appearing on the score sheet.
All the three goals came in the first stanza of the encounter.
Nabukenya scored nine goals in the tournament.
The Kawempe Muslim SS team B (Junior team) won the bronze after beating Masaka SS via spot kicks.
In football boys, Masaka SS also defended their title after beating Kibuli SS on final via spot kicks 6-5 following a goalless stalemate in normal time.
In Netball, Green Light Islamic SS crowned the champion after beating Hamdan Islamic 22-21 on final.
Gombe SS took the over all trophy.
The tournament that has attracted at least 50 schools has climaxed today (Easter Monday) and Prince Nakibinge Kakungulu was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
The 38th edition shall be hosted at Nkoma SS in Mbale.
