With the 2025 USSSA ball games one championship nears climax, Kawempe Muslim SS booked a slot in the 2025 East Africa Schools tournament following a 2-1 victory over arch rivals, Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga on the quarter final encounter honoured on Sunday at Amus College School.
Agnes Nabukenya and Brendah Nankya were on target for Kawempe while the consolation for Uganda Martyrs came from Shivon Atuhaire.
Nabukenya who moved her tally to 13 goals was the first to hand Kawempe a lead with a sweet finish, thanks to Shadia Nabirye cross from the right flank. Brenda Nankya doubled the lead for the defending champions with a long range free kick from the left wing.
The first stanza ended 2-0 in favor of Kawempe but in the second stanza Shivon Atuhaire pulled one back for Martyrs with a near post header, however it came in the last minute of the added four, they couldn’t get a chance to add on another one before the centre referee blew the last whistle.
In the other quarter finals, St Noa Girls School hammered Nkoma SS 5-1, Amus College School beat Nyabubare Girls 3-0 while Boni Concilii Girls Vocational defeated Standard High School Zana 3-0.
Kawempe Muslim SS will face Amus College on semifinal tomorrow as St Noa play against Boni Concilii Girls.
