The Uganda Premier League record champions, Sports Club Villa parts ways with head Coach Moley Byekwaso after failing to defend the Uganda Premier League title and finishing sixth on the log.
In the press document the Club posted on their official X handle (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, the management revealed that they mutually parted ways with Byekwaso who has been at the club close to two years.
“This decision was reached at after a constructive discussion between the club management and Morley with all parties agreeing that mutual separation would be the best in the interest of the club to move forward” reads part of the press release from the club.
The record champions of the Uganda premier League ended this season in the sixth position collecting only 45 points from 30 games with 12 wins, 9 draws, 9 losses and was also eliminated at the quarter finals stage of the Stanbic Uganda cup which the club considered as a poor performance.
Hajji Omar Mandela the club chairman stated that “we would like to thank molley for his commitment and contribution to the club” and emphasized that the decision was peaceful and wished him all the best as he has made Villa and the management proud.
It should be noted that Moley Byekwaso was of recently appointed by the federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) to over see the CHAN national team
