Singer-cum-presidential advisor on Kampala affairs Catherine Kusasira has established her intentions to stand for the Buikwe Woman Member of Parliament seat in the 2026 general elections.
The Uganda parliament continues to welcome people from all walks of life to represent their different constituents.
Several figures from the entertainment industry in particular have taken up seats in the August house and Catherine Kusasira looks to add her name to the ever-growing list.
The news about Kusasira’s intention to bid for the Woman MP seat for Buikwe district was revealed early on Thursday morning.
The Ssi Ddogo singer’s ardent support for the ruling National Resistance Movement party is publicly known and she is most likely set to run on the NRM card.
She joins the likes of Viboyo Oweyo, King Saha, and Ziza Bafana among other artists who have already shown interest in taking up leadership roles come 2026.
