Over the weekend, social media was filled with rumors about how gangs turned violent during Feffe Bussi’s concert which was held at Jahazi Pier Munyonyo on 18th May.

A video showed Fik Gaza making a chaotic entrance into the venue with a gang of over thirty men, evoking mixed reactions from netizens.

Fik Gaza is not the only musician who moves with several of his friends when attending a concert. Many other artists have embraced moving in large groups for security reasons.

Eddy Kenzo says such cliques – locally termed “Egaali” – have existed for many years. He admits to having one himself.

He, however, notes that his clique is not the violent type. Kenzo criticizes the violent nature of the latter-day gangs as not welcome and hence should be regulated.
