Gravity Omutujju increased the ticket prices for his upcoming concert, set to take place on 7th September 2024 at the Lugogo Cricket Oval from his previous standard charges and he explains why.
Previously, concert-goers could purchase tickets for UGX 10,000 (ordinary) and UGX 30,000 (VIP).
However, the new pricing has seen ordinary tickets rise to UGX 20,000 and VIP tickets to UGX 50,000 for his Embaga Ya Isma N’Amina concert.
Gravity compared the adjustment of concert prices to the fluctuating prices of everyday commodities, such as tomatoes. He expressed that concert prices, like those of other goods, are subject to change based on demand and value.
Even tomato prices can be adjusted. What about the concerts? People even told me I delayed in increasing – they wanted me to charge UGX 30,000, but I said no.
When questioned about the possibility of hosting future concerts at the Serena Hotel, Gravity dismissed the idea, citing that the venue would be too small to accommodate his fanbase.
