Hannington Ssebwalunnyo who is on plane to Morocco with the Uganda National team, the cranes for two international friendly matches, won big in the NEC football club End of season Awards dinner held on Monday at Silver Springs Hotel Bugoloobi.
The custodian of the second placed side in the league, Ssebwalunnyo named the best club’s goalkeeper as well as the fans best player of the season.
With his amazing performances, Ssebwalunnyo helped NEC FC to finish the season in second position with 67 points and earned their first continental slot.
According to the club’s administration, NEC FC managed at least to fulfill 50 percent of their season’s aims and objectives set.
Statically, NEC FC finished the season unbeaten at home, losing only three fixtures in the entire season that came against the league champions, Vipers SC, Lugazi and Express FC.
NEC FC has won twenty (20) games, drew seven(7) and Three (3) losses in the league. This means that vipers won the trophy by two (2) points ahead of NEC FC.
NEC FC will represent Uganda in the CAF confederations Cup, season 2025/26, this is so because Vipers SC won a double, Premier League and Uganda Cup.
Atendele Geriga named the best defender of the season with Enock Ssebaggala taking the best midfielder’s accolade.
The names of the awardees:
Best goal keeper – Hannington Ssebwalunyo
Best defender – Atendele Geriga.
Best midfielder- Ssebaggala Enock
Best forward – Paul mucureezi
Players player of the season – Enock Ssebaggala
Fans player of the Season – Hannington Ssebwalunyo
Team Player of the season – Jaccob Okao
Goal of the year – Ghadafi Wahab.
