Mawogola West will, for the first time, hold a Sports Festival come 2025 and the organizing committee has confirmed 26th, December 2024 (Boxing Day) as the official date when the mega Sports festival will be launched.
Lwebitakuli Subcounty has been named as the host for the launch where the date and venue for the inaugural Sports festival will be held.
Sports enthusiast Katerega Uthman Mwanadamu, who is the Vision bearer, stated that there is a need to develop sports and change the mindset of our People as far as Sports is concerned.
“We need to identify talents and develop them as well as building confidence in our people.” Stated, Uthman Katerega Mwanadamu
For proper planning of the festival dubbed, Mawogola West Sports Festival, over 25 people from Mawogola have been trained to take a mantle of responsibilities and are now knowledgeable on how to do things in the right way.
Among the sports disciplines and activities identified ahead of the festival are Miss Mawogola, Ludo, Mweeso, Pool Table, Bicycle racing, Netball and Football.
