Phiona Nyamutoro narrowly escapes shooting attempt during official duties in Kisoro District

Phiona Nyamutoro, the Minister of State for Minerals and mother to Eddy Kenzo’s child, narrowly escaped a shooting attempt in Kisoro District.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred while she was on official duty, overseeing mineral-related activities in the region.

The altercation involved Private Security Guards from the National Cement Co., a subsidiary of the Devki group.

The guard allegedly attempted to shoot the Minister following a disagreement. The dispute reportedly was fueled by the Minister Nyamutoro’s efforts to halt illegal mining operations in Kisoro District.

In a circulating video, the private guards are seen being apprehended by authorities and their firearms confiscated as part of the investigation that will commence.
