CEO of Mpaka Records, Ykee Benda, has sounded a cautionary note to fellow musicians, advising them against venturing into performances in Saudi Arabia.

His warning comes in the wake of the reported arrest of Fik Gaza, who found himself detained shortly after arriving at the airport.

Expressing concern over the dealings of music promotion in Saudi Arabia, Ykee Benda highlighted the jealousy among local promoters, who, he claims, often lead unsuspecting artists into unfortunate situations.

This warning comes amidst a backdrop of increasing incidents involving Ugandan artists encountering arrests while pursuing performance opportunities in Arab countries.

The most recent one was Beenie Gunter, whose UAE performance turned into an extended stay marked by controversy and accusations.
