Friday 7th June 2024, marked exactly a year since the sudden demise of Ugandan veteran dramatist and politician Hon. Kato Lubwama whose commemoration event was held at Bat Valley Theatre by fellow actors Abbey Mukiibi, Mariam Ndagire, and Ashiraf Ssemwogerere.

While appearing on BBS Telefayina, music, and entertainment critic Edward Sendi expressed his dismay with the individuals who pledged to extend support to the late Kato Lubwama’s family by saying that they have disappointed in all ways possible.

Edward Sendi noted that people who promised to help the late’s family have not done anything positive tangible to reflect the late’s legacy that he built for the years he was active and supporting others in his lifetime.

He thus urged people to stop pledging or promising to extend support to families of individuals when they are certain that they wouldn’t meet what they promised in public.

However, he advised that promising while at the Virgil of someone in public should be left out and believes that speaking secretly to someone in the family is much better so that when one fails to meet what he promised, he/she can talk to that person and gets excused and avoids being embarrassed.

During the interview, Eddie Sendi noted that on his Virgil, no person should pledge to support his family publicly noting that people can disappoint based on what he has seen in reality.
