USSSA Qualifiers: Bukedea Comprehensive Propels Three Teams to Quarters as Amus College Run Riot against Kolir | Voice of Bugerere

The group stages of the Bukedea District, USSSA qualifiers have climaxed today (Thursday) with the two big schools in the district, Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College qualify to the quarter final stage with no serious hurdle.

Bukedea Comprehensive Schools had both of her campuses feature in the qualifiers, Bukedea Comprehensive North and Bukedea Comprehensive South School.

The Main Campus which is Bukedea Comprehensive South was pitted in group C with Kongunga High School, Kings High school, St Theresa and Kidongole Seed SCH and were playing at Bukedea Boma Ground in Bukedea Town.

The side won all her four group stage fixtures beating Kongunga High 1-0 courtesy of Asega Halid, who had a uniform score against Kings High School courtesy of Amisi Yabiri Busingye. The side went riot against St Theresa in their last game of day one, they put six past the later, with Asega Halid scoring a brace, Ssekibengo Godfrey, Chon John,Tom Kyeyune and Joel Kigenyi each scoring once.

On Thursday, they played one match to complete the group and beat Kidongole Seed SCH 4-0 to top the group with 12 points, 12 goals and conceded none and sailed to the quarter finals.

Meanwhile, Bukedea Comprehensive Annex (North) also did the same like their brothers, winning all their four group stage games but with a low scoring rate.

This team under Panda Cida, the former Olila High School tactician were pitted in group B with Amus High School, Kachumbala Comprehensive School, Bukedea Life Line School and St Joseph.

On day one, they played two games beating Komuge 2-0, with Aine Edrine Paraka scoring twice, and beating St Joseph 1-0, courtesy of Aine Edrine Paraka.

On day two, they beat Kachumbala Comprehensive 1-0 and Amus High School 2-1 also to propel to quarter finals with 12 points.

Another giant of the district, Amus College School also won all her fixtures and in the last fixture of their group A, they thumped Kolir 11 goals to none, the highest score so far in the tournament. 

For starters, the tournament that is climaxing on Friday had 20 teams pitted in four groups of five and the best four shall qualify to the regional level to represent the district.

In girls football, again the two schools, Bukedea Comprehensive and Amus College found no challenge to qualify for the quarter final. 

The quarter finals, semis and finals shall be played tomorrow (Friday) to find the champions of the district.

The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports national championships for boys and girls shall be held in May this year with Bukedea Comprehensive School hosting girls while Ngora is hosting boys.
