On 25th May 2017, Ivan Semwanga was pronounced dead at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria, South Africa where he had been receiving medical treatment having suffered a heart attack.
Aged 39 at the time, Ivan Semwanga had become a household name in the Ugandan showbiz industry for his lavish lifestyle.
He was also widely known as Zari Hassan’s official husband and the father of her children.

Over the weekend, the late Semwanga’s friends and family commemorated his life as they prayed for him. Others sent out posts on social media celebrating his achievements.
Zari Hassan, via Snapchat, noted that she can never get over him and will always love him.
“7 years seems like yesterday. May Allah continue testing you in peace. We will always love you,” the mother of five wrote.
